Penny whistle
$25.00
In 1843, in a rags-to-riches story, Suffolk farm labourer Robert Clarke began making tin-whistles to supplement his low wages - these peculiarly sweet toned whistles proved so popular that he became the richest tin-whistle maker in England. Assembled in a Manchester workshop Clarke’s pennywhistles found their way round the world to New Zealand with her colonists.
