Your Perfect Wedding

Your wedding day is one of the most important of your life. Old St Paul’s is that special place that can make your dream come true.
Famed for its glowing wooden interior and stained glass windows, Old St Paul’s offers a traditional setting close to the heart of the city. It is still consecrated, but Old St Paul’s is no longer a parish church. Because it is non-denominational it offers you the opportunity to design a traditional or modern wedding ceremony, a religious or civil service with your choice of minister of religion or civil celebrant.
Hire of Old Paul’s includes:
- The services of our wedding co-ordinator who will work with you to ensure your ceremony at Old St Paul’s proceeds just the way you planned it
- The Director of Music will help you choose from traditional or non traditional pieces played on the organ or grand piano. A sound system and CD player or Ipod is available.
- Professionally arranged seasonal flowers are provided on either side of the chancel steps and on the altar. Additional flowers are provided at your own expense and can be taken to the reception venue if you wish
- Your choice of pew decorations
- Old St Paul’s Bell ringers may ring for your wedding on request. Their fee is additional to the Old St Paul’s venue hire charge.
A Candle Ceremony signifies the coming together of two people and two families. The beautiful unity candles are a set of three and have the names of both bride and groom, the wedding date, a picture of Old St Paul’s and a verse. Their fee is additional to the Old St Paul’s venue hire fee.
Please contact the Wedding Co-ordinator for up to date costs, to check availability and to discuss your requirements - telephone (04) 473 6722 or email.
Christenings

Imagine your child’s christening at Old St Paul’s, Wellington’s treasured historic church. Famed for its glowing wooden interior and beautiful stained glass windows, Old St Paul’s offers an intimate, welcoming, and tranquil setting for your ceremony.
Old St Paul’s is a consecrated, non-denominational building, and you may have a religious christening or a civil name giving ceremony. We are able to refer you to ministers or celebrants should you not already have someone in mind.
Since the sacrament of baptism symbolises entry to the church community, the baptistery with its baptism font is located near the entry to the church. The beautiful stone font came from England in 1866 and is one of the original furnishings of the church.
Although Old St Paul’s is still a consecrated church, we are no longer a parish and do not have a resident clergy therefore you will need to organise your own minister or celebrant. Celebrant fees are not included in the Old St Paul’s christening fee.
A sound system and CD player or Ipod is available.
If you prefer an Anglican christening, you will need to contact the Wellington Cathedral of St Paul’s on 04 472 0286.
Please contact Old St Paul's to discuss your requirements.
